TripTrack

This policy explains how TripTrack handles app data, location data, diagnostics, and subscription-related information.

Introduction

TripTrack is designed to help users record, review, and manage trip information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app may collect, how it may be used, and which third-party services may process data.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, TripTrack collects or processes:

  • GPS/location data while recording trips
  • Trip and route history, including coordinates, distance, time, and trip type
  • Device and app technical information
  • Diagnostics, crash reports, and app activity data through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics
  • Google Sign-In or Firebase Authentication data if sign-in features are available and used
  • Subscription or purchase status through Google Play Billing

TripTrack does not receive or store full payment card numbers or complete payment credentials.

2. How We Use Information

TripTrack uses app data to:

  • Record trips manually or automatically when tracking is enabled
  • Calculate mileage, distance, time, and trip summaries
  • Display trip history, route details, and reports
  • Manage trial, Premium, or subscription access
  • Diagnose errors, improve stability, and understand app performance
  • Analyze app usage and improve the app experience

3. Location and Background Location

TripTrack requests foreground and, when enabled, background location access so it can record driving routes and mileage while a trip is active or automatic tracking is enabled. This allows TripTrack to continue receiving location updates when you switch to another app, use a delivery app, minimize TripTrack, or turn off or lock the screen.

Location data is used to calculate mileage, display route history, generate trip reports, and maintain trip records. Background location is used only for trip recording and enabled automatic tracking functionality; TripTrack does not use background location for advertising.

You can control location permissions through Android settings. If location permission is denied or disabled, trip tracking features may not work correctly.

4. Local Data Storage

Trip routes, trip history, mileage records, settings, and local trial or Premium state may be stored primarily on your device.

Local data may be deleted if you uninstall the app, clear app data through Android settings, or use in-app deletion features if they are available.

5. Analytics, Crash Reports, and Diagnostics

TripTrack uses Firebase Analytics to understand app activity and usage patterns. Firebase Analytics may collect usage data, app activity data, device information, app information, and related technical data.

TripTrack uses Firebase Crashlytics to detect crashes and diagnose technical problems. Firebase Crashlytics may collect crash logs, diagnostics, device information, app information, operating system information, timestamps, and related technical data.

This data may be processed by Google/Firebase according to their own privacy and security practices.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

If TripTrack offers paid features, Premium access, trials, or subscriptions, purchases are processed by Google Play Billing.

TripTrack may receive and store subscription or entitlement status needed to unlock Premium features. TripTrack does not receive or store your full credit card number, debit card number, or complete payment credentials.

Payment processing is handled by Google Play according to Google's own policies.

7. Sign-In and Authentication

If Google Sign-In or Firebase Authentication is available and you choose to use it, TripTrack may process account-related information provided by Google/Firebase, such as an account identifier, email address, display name, or authentication token needed to operate sign-in features.

If sign-in features are not used, this data is not collected through those features.

8. Route Optimization Services

If route optimization features are available and enabled, TripTrack may send coordinates, addresses, or route-related inputs to OpenRouteService to calculate optimized routes.

Route optimization providers may process submitted route data according to their own policies. If route optimization is not used, this data is not sent for route optimization.

9. Data Sharing and Third-Party Processing

The developer does not sell user data.

TripTrack shares or allows processing of data with third-party services only as needed for app functionality, analytics, diagnostics, authentication, billing, route optimization, service operation, or legal compliance.

  • Google Firebase: analytics, crash reports, diagnostics, and authentication if enabled
  • Google Play: billing, subscriptions, purchases, and entitlement status
  • Google Sign-In / Firebase Authentication: authentication if the user chooses to sign in
  • OpenRouteService: route optimization if that feature is available and used

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Local trip routes, trip history, mileage records, settings, and local Premium or trial state may remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app.

If TripTrack provides in-app deletion features, you can use those controls to delete supported local records.

Diagnostics, analytics, billing, authentication, and route optimization data processed by third-party services may be retained according to those services' own policies and settings.

11. User Choices and Controls

You can control location permissions, background location permissions, notifications, and other app permissions through Android settings.

You can stop active trip tracking through the app controls when tracking is active. You can also clear app data or uninstall the app to remove locally stored data from your device.

Subscription management, cancellation, and purchase history are handled through Google Play account settings.

12. Children's Privacy

TripTrack is not directed to children under the age of 13.

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, contact the developer so the concern can be reviewed.

13. Data Security

TripTrack uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect app data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

15. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as TripTrack changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
